 KCI’s mission is to: 
  • Reduce the taxpayers burden for maintaining the prison system by utilizing inmate labor to produce and perform services that are a fiscal benefit to the Commonwealth. 
  • Reduce tension in the overcrowded prisons by employing large numbers of inmates in meaningful work at a nominal wage. 
  • Provide a realistic work experience and marketable skills which will improve our inmates’ chances for securing gainful employment upon their release.
